Gazprom holders approve record Jan–Jun divs of 51.03 rbl/share

MOSCOW, Sep 30 (PRIME) -- The shareholders of Russian gas giant Gazprom have approved a decision to pay record dividends of 51.03 rubles per share, or a total of 1.208 trillion rubles, for January–June, the company said in a statement on Friday.

The payment accounts for 50% of the company’s adjusted net profit for the period, and it is a record payment not only for the company, but for the entire Russian stock market as well. The record date for the dividends is October 11.

Previously, the company paid 12.55 rubles per share or 297.1 billion rubles in final dividends for 2020, and the board of directors of Gazprom recommended paying 52.53 rubles per share or 1.244 trillion rubles in final dividends for 2021 at the end of May 2022.

But in June, the company’s shareholders decided against paying the dividends saying that it would be unreasonable to do so given the current circumstances.

The Russian government and state-controlled companies held a combined stake of 50.23% in Gazprom as of the end of 2021.
